3rd International Summer School on Mobile Mapping Technology
The 3rd International Summer School on Mobile Mapping Technology (SS-MMT 2015) was held at the Science and Art Center, Xiamen University, Xiamen, China, April 26-28, 2015. The summer school was sponsored by ISPRS WG I/3 and WG I/Va, and co-sponsored by The Ohio State University, University of Waterloo, University of Calgary, Wuhan University and National Cheng Kung University. Sponsorship from organizations included International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS), International Cartographic Association (ICA), International Federation of Surveyors (FIG), The Institute of Navigation (ION), the National Foundation of Nature Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and China Society of Image and Graphics (CSIG).
Over 100 attendants joined the event. During the three-day period of the summer school, there were four lecture themes in total. Professor Naser El-Sheimy, Canada Research Chair in Mobile Multi-sensor Systems, Professor Dorota A. Grejner-Brzezinska, ION President and ION Fellow, and Professor Xiaoji Niu from Wuhan University gave lectures for Theme 1: Inertial Navigation, Multi-Sensor Fusion and Applications. Professor Charles K. Toth, ISPRS Technical Commission I President gave a lecture for Theme 2: Mobile Mapping Sensors and Platforms Applications. Professor Ayman Habib, Chair of ISPRS WG I/3 and Professor Cheng Wang, Co-Chair of ISPRS WG I/3 gave lectures for Theme 3: Photogrammetry Applications. Professor Jonathan Li, Chair of the ISPRS WG I/Va and Professor Kai-Wei Chiang, Co-Chair of the ISPRS WG I/Va gave lectures for Theme 4: Innovative Mobile Mapping Applications.
